Members League XC Competition

Hi Folks,

For those of you running cross country, you may be interested to know that we have re-introduced a Members League competition run in conjunction with the Birmingham CC & Midland Women's Leagues. The men's winner will receive the Farmer Smith Trophy at the Club's Annual Awards, the women's trophy is still to be sorted.

The competitions scoring will be based on the same system as the Road Running Grand Prix i.e. age grading will be applied to determine the order of performance levels and points awarded from 40 to the 1st place; 39 for 2nd; 38 for 3rd and so on. Points will be added together for the best three out of four races, the highest score being the winner.

Hopefully this will provide more incentive to turn out for each race. I will get points calculated as soon as possible after the official results have been published and they will appear on our own website soon after. At the time of writing this I am waiting for the results of the 2nd women's race but I can reveal that the first three in the men's league are currently: -
     1st (76 points) Gordon Orme
     2nd= (73 points) Peter Whitehouse
     2nd= (73 points) Greg Divall
