Alternative
race report
This
report is more of a non report than an alternative one; after struggling for 30
Mins. to escape from the Park through all the Chavs, toe rags, and boy racers
who seem to inhabit the environs surrounding the exit, I was driving home
feeling like the proverbial wet string. I then had a phone call and because it
was “legally safe to do so” answered it. Number two son was asking us to go
out for a meal. With thoughts of liquid refreshment and a Kajal takeaway fading
into the background we duly got showered and scrubbed for said meal, which was
excellent. But now I don’t have time for a full blow by blow account of the
days activities, my window of opportunity has closed!
However
I digress, it was a really nice day the weather was blissful—for spectating,
Though
I believe too much was made of the heat by the runners. A splendid turn out
again by you ladies, we had 3 full teams out with a couple of judicious
substitutions, Wendy looked quite pale.
Strangely
everyone in the A team ran quicker than they did in the Midlands road relays,
and, with all but one notable exception, the B team ran slower. Likewise the C
team. Weird or what?
This
race was the last of the winter races, and I’d like to thank you all for
turning out and making us arguably the biggest contributor to women’s
endurance running in the Midlands.
