GRAND PRIX 2006 The Rowheath 5k, 13th July

This is a popular mid-week race, which attracted a few extra athletes from Birchfield. Unfortunately we cannot count 7 of them owing to the fact that Rule 7 was not adhered to. These are indicated in the table of results below.

The overall winner of the race was John Ndayisenga and although it was described as a “training” run he managed to record over 89% on age grading, almost a world standard performance. Well done.

In the GP, Gordon continues to impress with age performances consistently around 84% in the shorter races. Age Grading is a good indication as to where your best performances can be achieved. Check out the percentage chart and look at the corresponding races to see this illustrated. The first 3 positions remain unchanged but Peter Lawton moves up 2 places to 4th and Julian up 3 places to 7th. Big jumper is Lynette Millard who rises 6 places to take 8th spot and first woman, ousting Ann Haywood who didn’t run. Ann has yet to qualify (see Rule2) as does Alex Davidson-Elliott who also jumped up the table by 7 places to take over the 11th spot. With the exception of Wayne Bourne in 9th place, everyone from 11th downwards still has to qualify. Please look at the races left and see Barry Roberts to enter.
