MCAA 6 Stage Masters Road Relays

Sutton Park, 31st March 2007

Our annual sojourn to Sutton Park for these relays was as usual preceded with much teeth gnashing and hair pulling (it’s a wonder I’m not bald!) trying to get two full teams out from the numerous names on the entry list. I failed. But, owing to people like Max, who, at 79, travelled all the way from Leeds to run 3 miles for us, my faith in human nature remains unabated. As there were no late changes I was able to declare the teams at a reasonable time beforehand and everyone turned up as scheduled so I was able to hand out numbers and leave the rest to the runners.

Please note the superb performance by Derek Donaghy in achieving a World Class Standard of 93.32% for the 2.995 mile course. Derek is on form at the moment and compared favourably with his less “senior” colleagues. Well done to him.
