MIDLAND WOMEN’S XC LEAGUE RACE 4 SAT 11TH FEB. 2006

CHELTENHAM RACE REPORT

This last race turned out to be annoying because we could have easily had third spot behind Loughborough Uni. and Telford AC; as it was because of a poor show a couple of races ago  we were pushed into fourth by Newcastle.

The evergreen Cath Mijovic rounded off yet another fine season and was first scorer home for us in 17th place despite negotiating the stream like a woosie as usual.

Thankfully Josie Grey recovered enough from a bout of lurgy to get round next in 22nd.

Faye Manger, after being bitterly disappointed having to pull out of the Midland champs with an ankle injury closed the scoring in 44th.

Louise (heavy metal) Harman managed to stop talking long enough to finish 58th continuing her progress up the field, we’ll be looking for more progress next season.

Hannah Hore stuck to the task in her first race for three years, and despite suffering from stitch for most of the race finished 87th. Poor Michelle Tanner returned too early from having flue and, after trying to be sick over Louise as she went past, retired for an early bath.

So on we go to the Road Relays don’t book any holidays yet I’ll be sending you details soon ,but the dates are 18th, and 25th March. 8th April. All in Sutton Park.
