I was composing tonight’s offering in my head during the women’s 10000m – which was the complete opposite of the previous night’s men’s race – so my mind was wandering to more obscure matters before the excitement of of the 100m. So you will have to wait for the fun stuff.

After several injury prone years Mark Lewis-Francis has returned to top class competition with a bangĀ by winning the silver medal in the 100m at the European Championships in Barcelona.

Two young Birchfield Harriers are finalising their preparation for the IAAF World Junior Athletic Championships in Moncton, Canada where they will be competing as members of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Team.
Adam Cotton in the 800m and Danny Talbot in the 200m will be taking against the best under 20 athletes in the world. [...]
