The final League was held at Stocklnd Green LC on 4th March - this League was formed some 24 years ago, during this per5iod many of our young athletes have gone on to international levels - James and Edward Dunford, Jonathon Moore, Mark Lewis Francis, Donna Maylor, Andy Thomas, Jade Surman to name but a few, sorry guess one or two of you must have been left out, let us know if you are one of those.........

 

This year Birchfield u15 Girls retained the Donn Maylor Shield - with 3669 points The individual Girl winner was Jenniece Birmingham  with 828 points Jenniece winning the Donna Maylor ind.trophy  Jenniece  had crept up on Keri Moncrrieiffe who was runner up with 813points Laiken Salmon, together with Kimeal Moncrieefe  being winning members of the Team - supported too by Hannah Davis and laura Davis - multi eventers  watch out...............

 

Not to be outdone Ben Newman won the individual boys award -the  Mark Lewis Francis Trophy - unfortunately Mark was out of the Country  winning silver medal in the European indoor 60m championships!! in Madrid so all is forgiven Mark - well done too.........

 

We had three of our previous SHA athletes presenting awards, Andy Thomas, Jade Surman and young Donna Maylor.

 

Our u13 boys and girls, thanks to the Academy have turned out teams and if keeness and enjoyment is anything to go by - they will do well next Season.............

In the meantime a number of Birchfield athletes will be competing for Birmingham in the National Final at the NIA on Sunday 20th March 12 noon start ADMISSION FREE, come and spend a noisy after noon with us and cheer the youngsters on..........
