ALTERNATIVE
RACE REPORT.
I got the
tent , which was hurt at the Nat XC out of hospital at 11:00 this morning , it had a new skin and two new legs; amazing the advances in
medical care for tents. Good job too it was freezing in the park.
We had
three and a half teams, easily the highest input to the race. Even boyfriends
are turning up now to watch, aren’t they Sarah?
Although
most times were accurate we did a huge injustice to Nicola Harrison who actually
ran a minute quicker than our unofficial time, Sorry Nicola, but well done.
The Race,
A
team,
Debbie
Walters was making a low key come back
after some months of injury, still some way from full fitness she was a close
second to Liz Crawford from Solihull. She ran 15:55.
Louise
Harman, stepped into the A team and
although not able to hold onto second still kept us in contention in fourth with
a time of 18:24.
Kate
Simpson, had already expressed fears
of letting the team down, however she ran splendidly to snatch second place by a
handsome margin, time 18:24.
In the B
Team Sarah Capewell managed to leave
her boyfriend Ryan long enough to run 19:28. Claire
Beaumont ran next and came back in 18:50
Rachel
Stenhouse, although very nervous, ran 20:12 to justify her selection.
In the C
team, Rachel Denham, who I nearly
missed out ran 21:48, Nicola Harrison
ran 19:51, and Holly O’Meara ran
20:58.
In an
incomplete D team Samara Booth ran
24:44 and the ever faithful
Wendy
Morant 26:06
