Race report.

As one of the best Clubs in the country I suppose we should expect to do well in this competition, so we did. We won in fine style from Coventry and even better the Men also did well to finish 2nd.

A team
Leg 1,
Rebecca Sanders, although her training is severely restricted to dog paddle in the swimming pool due to a plantar fascitis problem our Becky did superbly to bring us in 2nd place by a narrow margin.
Leg 2,
Faye Manger, Drafted into the A team at short notice, despite a recently acquired throat infection, soon forged a considerable lead, she was so poorly she couldn't even be bothered to collect her winning bottle of wine!( Becky's got it)
Leg 3,
Amanda Dalkins, first run for us since being laid low by a virus picked up at the end of last year by those nasty Americans, set off with a healthy lead, however she was being chased by the excellent Tina Brown from Coventry who by her own admission blew herself out of the water trying unsuccessfully to catch Amanda, I particularly like her to win because I invariably end up with her bottle of wine.

B team
Leg 1,
Rachael Rowberry, Lean mean Kiwi ran a brilliant first leg actually justifying an A team place,
leg 2,
Tabbi Sloper, re-defines minimalist training, I suppose it's to do with being young, turned in a very respectable performance.
Leg 3,
Pam Rayment, although a vet, in racing years probably the youngest runner, suitably nervous but coped admirably even staving off some sad bloke trying to outsprint her at the end!

C Team
Wendy Morant, looking splendid as ever was the only runner in this team but never lets me down.
